Last year, the China-Europe trains from Yiwu transported over 140,000 standard containers, marking a year-on-year increase of more than 10%

Around 10 a.m. on January 1st, a China-Europe train (X8410) carrying 110 standard containers of export goods such as daily necessities, auto parts, and mechanical equipment departed from Yiwu West Railway Station. The train will exit through the Erenhot Port and head to Hofryino, Russia. This marks the first China-Europe train to depart from the Yangtze River Delta region in 2025.

Throughout 2024, Yiwu’s China-Europe trains operated a total of 1,300 trips (including return trips), transporting over 140,000 standard containers. This is nearly 10,000 more than in 2023, representing a year-on-year increase of over 10%. Currently, Yiwu’s China-Europe trains (including those to Central Asia) have established 20 transportation routes, reaching more than 50 countries in Europe and Asia, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland, and Germany. The variety of goods transported by Yiwu’s China-Europe trains has grown from over 10,000 types initially to more than 50,000 types today. This has provided strong momentum and logistical support for facilitating domestic and international “dual circulation,” promoting the economic and social development of countries and regions along the route, and serving the high-quality co-construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative
